Cheering You On!

Remember the old football cheer that required audience participation, “lean to the left, lean to the right, stand up, sit down, fight, fight, fight”?  I’m virtually cheering for you with this “Fight, Fight, Fight” post. But it requires you to read, listen and watch. I promise that one or more Fightin’ segments will bless your heart and your mind in one way or another. And don’t we all need it? Just click the pink links to read, listen and watch:

  1. A Fightin’ Chance — a personal parable God gave me as a reminder to never give up, even when things look bleak; in the words of Winston Churchill, “Nevah give in. Nevah, nevah, nevah!”

2. When you need a spiritual reset, read and meditate on this passage from 2 Chronicles 20 that I call Fightin‘ Your Battles. (just click on the pink link!) Then go and do likewise — “sing to the Lord…to praise him for the splendor of his holiness.” Trust that he will fight whatever battle you’re facing. Creating your own praise and worship playlist is easy to do on Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, or YouTube. Here are a few of my favorite worship songs to get you started:

3. Fightin’ To Stay Upbeat – It’s good to have a few new go-to movies when you can’t go to the movies! Click on this pink link to see my recommendations; several are based on true stories and easily accessible right now on Amazon Prime or Netflix. My Favorite Films page lists 39 feature films you may be able to find on Hulu or another platform to rent. Scroll through the previews which are sorted by year of release; a few may be too serious to handle right now — but many are heartwarming or light-hearted. And finally, go to Moving Works to view creative short films that offer the hope of heaven to people from every tribe and nation. Then pass on the link to a friend from another corner of the planet.

May you fight the good fight; never forget, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
